Tolar Grande

Tolar Grande is a town located in the heart of the Puna Salteña, founded around the Belgrano railway station, when mining activity was in full development. To get to this town from the city of Salta, you have to travel 357 km. Crossing the Quebrada del Toro, passing through the town of San Antonio de Los Cobres and small hamlets blended into the arid Puno landscape.

Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer from Salta or San Antonio de Los Cobres to Tolar Grande. Lunch and departure to the Alto Chorrillos pass at 4560 meters above sea level, we cross the towns of Olacapato, Salar de Pocitos, 7 curves and the Diablo desert, arriving at Tolar Grande in the afternoon. Dinner in a family dining room. Night in a shelter or family home.

Day 2: Breakfast in the family dining room. Visit to Arenal and Ojos de Mar. Lunch in a family dining room. In the afternoon, cross the Arizaro salt flat and walk to the base of the Arita Cone. Return at sunset. Dinner in a family dining room, night in a shelter or family home.

Day 3: Breakfast in the family dining room and departure to the starting point. San Antonio de los Cobres or City of Salta.
